Independent candidate has won for the post of ward chairman of Budhanilkantha Municipality-3 in Kathmandu. Independent candidate Akash Dhital has won the local level election by getting 512 votes, Election Officer Chamila Bhattarai informed.
His nearest rival CPN (UML) candidate Rajendra Khadka polled 474 votes. Five political parties, including one independent, had fielded candidates for the post.
Similarly, UML candidate Bikram Raj Shrestha and Bikas Tamang Lama have won the open ward member post by getting 610 and 614 votes respectively. Similarly, Nepali Congress candidate Bal Maya Shrestha won the women's seat with 554 votes and UML candidate Sushila Ramtel won the Dalit women's seat with 579 votes, said Election Officer Bhattarai. In Budhanilkantha municipality, which has a total of 48,304 voters, more than 34,000 votes were cast. There are 13 wards in the municipality.
