Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu has said that the construction of dry port and industrial zone is a high priority of the government. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur today, Minister Badu said that he was taking initiative to move ahead with the construction of the proposed Dodhara Chadani Dry Port and Daiji Industrial Area in Kanchanpur.
"Even though the proposal and foundation stone have been laid for a long time, the budget has not been managed yet," he said. "These two projects will be included in the budget for the coming fiscal year." Former Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Narayan Prakash Saud and Industry Secretary Ganesh Prasad Pandey also conducted on-site monitoring along with Minister Badu of the Dodhara Chadani Dry Port and Daiji Industrial Area.
Minister Badu said that the construction of dry port is also a priority of India. "This is also a plan linked to the trilateral trade importance of Nepal-India and China," said Minister Badu.
Similarly, 22,000 people will get employment after the construction of Daiji Industrial Area, he said. "The ministry will soon come to a decision on how to complete the construction of the industrial zone," he said. "The construction of the industrial zone is now moving forward at a fast pace."
"The issues of environmental impact assessment and land tenure are being finalized," he said.
