The snow on the upper part of the Mahabharata hills, the highest part of Kavrepalanchowk, has not yet melted. From Thursday night to Saturday morning, there was a crowd of youngsters playing in the snow.

The highest part of the district, Bethanchowk Narayansthan hill of Bethanchowk village municipality is covered with snow. Even though the crops ripening in the fields were destroyed due to the snowfall, the farmers here are hoping that the crops planted now will be destroyed. Durga Prasad Humagarin of Bethanchowk village municipality-1, who reached Dhunkharka Bazaar on foot after the traffic was disrupted due to snowfall for about two days, said that he hopes to grow crops even though it is difficult for the elderly.

He arrived at Dhunkharka Bazaar on Saturday to buy food and spices after a two-and-a-half-hour walk due to snowfall. He said in a slightly bitter tone, "The snow destroyed our mustard and wheat crops, but even if all the crops are destroyed by the piles of snow, the farming in upcoming season will bring far more favorable crops.” Recalling the snowfall around 2005/06, he said that it would be much better to cultivate now even if there was some loss due to heavy snowfall.

Thakur Timalsina of Bethanchowk Village Municipality-3 said that the land would get cold after snowfall and it would be good for farming. "Some losses have to be borne, but the snow will have brought a lot of happiness to our farmers in the days to come," he said.

Snowfall since Thursday night has affected the upper part of the district. The cold has increased in most parts of the Mahabharat region including Chaubasdanda of Bhumlu village municipality, Narayansthan of Temal, Roshi and the upper part of Bethachanowk. Kamidanda of Bethanchowk, which has a high terrain. The hills of Bethanchowk Narayansthan are still covered with snow. After the snowfall, the tourist areas were crowded on Saturday.
