District Court Rasuwa has sentenced a youth to life imprisonment on charge of rape. Yamprasad Bhattarai, 21, of Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-6 of Rasuwa has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Magistrate Gopi Bishwakarma informed that the verdict was handed down by a single bench of District Court Judge Rajendra Nepal. Bhattarai had raped a 6-year-old girl in February 2021. He had been found guilty under sub-sections 1 and 2 of section 219 of the National Criminal Code 2018 and sub-section 3-A.
Bhattarai has been sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 600,000 and Rs 50,000 compensation to the victim.
