More polling stations set in Pokhara

After the delay in counting in Pokhara, more polling stations have been set up

The final results of four out of five municipalities of Kaski under the local level member election-2022  have been made public. Even after the results of Madi, Rupa, Annapurna, and Machhapuchche villages have been made public, the census of the Pokhara metropolis is still going on.

Of the 33 wards of the metropolis, only the final results of ward nos. 1, 2, 4, 12, and 23 have been declared so far. Out of the 143,226 votes cast in the Pokhara Metropolitan Election held on April 12, only 31,000 votes have been counted in four days.

In Pokhara, the results of 29 wards are yet to come. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has added two more polling stations in Pokhara as the counting of votes is slow. According to Chief Electoral Officer Nil Prasad Paneru, two more polling stations have been added since Tuesday night.

Counting in Pokhara is currently taking place in the meeting hall of the City Development Committee and District Coordination Hall from 10 circles of the six polling stations. It is believed that the counting will be faster after the addition of the counting center.

In Pokhara, Dhanraj Acharya of the CPN (Unified Socialist) has got 12,945 votes while Krishna Bahadur Thapa of the CPN (UML) has got 11,150 votes. Similarly, Kopila Ranabhat of the Nepali Congress is leading with 13 thousand 233 votes. UML's Manju Devi Gurung has 12,728 votes.
