Police in Udayapur district on Wednesday night arrested a man in possession of a pistol and five bullets from Motigadha in Triyuga Municipality-3.
The arrested has been identified as Parsuram Chaudhary (50), a local resident of the same municipality in the district.
Chaudhary was hiding the gun and bullets in his house. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Udayapur-based District Police Office nabbed him. The police also seized the gun and bullets from his possession while searching his house.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
