Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order on a writ petition filed by advocate Gyanendra Aryan and others demanding the arrest and investigation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The Supreme Court has ordered that the legal questions of the case will be decided only after the full hearing, as a writ petition has been filed regarding the matter related to transitional justice and the matter has been explained many times.

The single bench order of Judge Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada said, 'There is no reason to issue an interim order as per the demand, so no interim order should be issued.'

But the Supreme Court has ordered to give priority to both cases. As a writ petition has been registered regarding transitional justice, the Supreme Court has pointed out that the dispute will be resolved on the basis of the constitution, existing laws, and the principles propounded by the Supreme Court on transitional justice and international practice.

After this Supreme Court order, Dahal will have to submit separate written answers as the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Maoist Center.
