Balen and Sunita Dangol maintain lead in KTM

Independent candidate has maintained the lead in the post of Kathmandu Metropolitan Chief.

Independent candidate Balendra Shah has maintained his lead with 9,563 votes as per the results obtained some time ago. He has received 20 thousand 201 votes. Keshav Sthapit of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) polled 10,638 votes and Sirjana Singh of the Nepali Congress polled 9,877 votes, according to Kathmandu Assistant Election Officer Prem Prasad Poudyal.

UML's deputy chief candidate Sunita Dangol has maintained her lead with 19,644 votes while UCPN-M's Rameshwor Shrestha has secured 6,301 votes.

So far 52 thousand 827 votes have been counted. The counting of votes of the remaining wards is underway in the National Assembly located at Pradarshani Marg.
