Constituent Assembly Speaker and CPN (UML) Vice President Subash Chandra Nembang has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Ilam 2. He has been elected for the fifth time now, with 30,000 votes.
Nembang's closest competitor, Nepali Congress District President Dumbar Bahadur Khadka, got 29,906 votes. Nembang defeated Khadka by a margin of 114 votes.
