Shyam Tamang has won the title of the first golf tournament held at the highest place in the world. Tamang scored 22 points in the first tournament held on Saturday at the world's highest golf course located in Lo-Thang of Lomanthang Rural Municipality of Mustang, District of Himalpari. Likewise, Balram Thapa came second with 20 points in the golf tournament held at an altitude of 4,645 meters named 'The Glenlivet Top of the World Golf Classic'.
Ravinder Saini with 14 points in West Gross and Shusma Singh who managed to score 14 points became the women's champions in the tournament in which 36 golfers participated. The tournament was inaugurated by 81-year-old athlete Dr. Rita Thapa. Oliver, the editor of Golf Digest magazine, which is published in America, also participated in the news collection of this tournament in the highest place in the world.
According to the organizers, it will be proposed to keep this competition in the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest ranking game in the world. Currently, the Yak Golf Course at Kuppa in East Sikkim at an altitude of 3,970 meters is considered to be the highest golf course.
