Police in Kathmandu district on Friday afternoon arrested 15 gamblers who were allegedly involved in gambling offences from New Road in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-22. They were nabbed from Ajay Shrestha's residence.
One of the arrested has been identified as Binod Karki, a 49-year-old, resident of Kageshowri Manohara Municipality-8 while the names of the 14 other people have not been disclosed.
Acting on a tip-off, joint security personnel deployed from Janasewa-based Metropolitan Police Circle and Kathmandu-based Metropolitan Police Sector nabbed them. They also seized Rs 13.43 lakh, 32 sets of kauda, and five decks of cards from their possession.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
