Death toll from oxygen plant explosion rises to two

The death toll from an explosion at an oxygen plant in Lalitpur's Patan Industrial Area has risen to two.

According to Siddhi Bikram Shah, spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Complex, Jawalakhel, another died at Patan Hospital at around 1.45 pm.

The eruption took place at 10 am on Thursday. Brij Mahato, 45, of West Champaram, India, died on the spot. Four others were injured.

Raju Kumar Mahato, 25, of Lalitpur-18 was also pronounced dead at Patan Hospital, Shah said, at 1.45 pm. According to him, the hospital has already discharged the others injured.

Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
