Federal government always support in waste management: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that waste management should not be done traditionally, but should be linked to long-term management with modern technology and sources of income and job creation. He was addressing the program organized on the occasion of the completion of 105 years of establishment of the municipality by Lalitpurmetropolitan.

Lalitpur, which was established as a garbage collection station in Bikram Sambat in 1975 under the name Chhemdol Station, has succeeded in establishing its identity as a metropolitan city.

He said the federal government is committed to providing clean drinking water to the city to solve the water problem. He clarified that the federal government will need coordination and support in other aspects of physical and human development.

Prime Minister Prachanda praised the development efforts of Lalipur Maha Nagar, which is also known as "Smart City" while promoting light and greenery. He said, "I feel that these works are appreciated nationally and internationally."

Prime Minister Prachanda awarded various people in the ceremony.  Lalitpur Mahanagar Gaurav Award was given to journalist Ishwor Maharjan. Journalist Maharjan has been covering various activities of Lalitpur on Nepal Television as a Lalitpur news reporter for more than two decades.
