KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley has experienced its lowest temperature of the year, as the mercury fell to 3.9 degrees Celsius this morning.
The temperature was recorded at 8:45 am, according to a report from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology's Weather Forecasting Division.
This marks a decrease from yesterday's minimum temperature of 5.6°C.
Meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane indicated that temperatures are expected to continue to drop, with clear skies predicted for the day.
The maximum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley is forecast to range between 17 and 19°C.
Meanwhile, the lowest temperature in Jumla was recorded at a chilling -6.5°C.
Lamichhane explained that cold weather tends to intensify at night, especially when the skies are clear, as the lack of clouds allows heat to escape, resulting in further temperature drops.
