KATHMANDU: Temperatures are steadily dropping across Nepal, with colder weather sweeping the country.
In Kathmandu, temperature records are being shattered every day.
On Tuesday, the city recorded its lowest temperature of the year at 5.5°C, but this was exceeded today (Wednesday).
According to meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane from the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley was 4°C at 5:45 am today.
The official nationwide minimum temperature will be published at 8:45 am, and the temperature in the Kathmandu Valley may either decrease further or remain the same at that time.
Meteorologists predict that temperatures will continue to fall until winter settles in completely. Winter officially began in Nepal on December 1 and will last for three months.
Meteorologists explain that the lowest temperature recorded within a 24-hour period is considered the minimum temperature for the day, while the highest is the maximum temperature.
The minimum temperature is typically recorded at 8:45 am, and the maximum temperature is measured at 5:45 pm.
