The Supreme Court has issued an interim order for an investigation to be conducted against former minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha who has been accused of helping in the release of a landlord who had been accused of racial discrimination.

The Supreme Court has refused to release Nepali Congress leader and former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam on bail.

Alam has been in judicial custody on a blast and murder case in the Rautahat district.

A division bench of Justice duo, Sushmalata Mathema, and Nahakul Subedi, upheld the verdict of the Birgunj bench under the High Court, Janakpur to refuse the release of Alam on bail.

In the murder of those injured in the bomb blast in course of the Constituent Assembly election on 9 April 2008, the district court ordered Alam to be kept in judicial custody.
