63,000 youth went abroad for foreign employment in Sept/Oct

Compared to last August, there has been a decrease in the number of Nepalis going abroad for employment in the month of September/October. In the month of Sept/Oct, 62,707 Nepali people went abroad in search of work.

Last August, the number of people who went abroad for the same was 76,403. Similarly, last July, 63,39 Nepalis went abroad for employment. 

According to the data of the department, an average of 2,900 Nepali people went abroad for work in Sept/Oct. As of August, the average number was around 2,500. Most of those who went abroad in Sept/Oct went to Malaysia. During one month, 27 thousand 62 people arrived in Malaysia for employment.

The demand increased for a few months in Malaysia with the opening of jobs in, which had been closed for a long time due to the pandemic. The number of people going abroad is higher than the average as the number of people opting to work in Malaysia is high. 

In Sept/Oct, 9,845 Nepali workers arrived in Qatar, 7,845 in UAE, 6,536 in Saudi Arabia, 3,497 in Kuwait, and 1,918 in Korea.

According to the data for the month of October, 37,412 workers have been sent abroad by manpower companies after completing the visa process. The rest went abroad through the renewal of work permits and personal work permits.

In the month of Sept/Oct, 44,34 workers got the opportunity to go abroad on new labor visas (institutional and individual). In August, the number of Nepalis going abroad on such new labor visas was 57,993.
