Rajendra Pandey of CPN United Samajbadi has been elected for the House of Representatives from Dhading 1. Pandey defeated CPN-UML's Bhumi Prasad Tripathi by a margin of 7,981 votes. Pandey got 35,934 votes and Tripathi got 27,953 votes. Comedian Himesh Pant from Rashtriya Swatantra Party got 12,475 votes. Pandey is also the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.
