The Narayansthan area of Bethanchowk Gaonpalika-3 of Kavrepalanchok has been becoming insecure lately due to increasing tourist attraction. Even the Goreto that reaches Narayansthan is dangerous and the risk is increasing due to the large rocky slope on the east side of Narayansthan hill.

A child of Panauti has died after slipping from Goreto near Danda on his way to Narayansthan on Saturday morning. A young man had died about a year ago when he fell from a hill at Bethanchowk Narayansthan at an altitude of 3,000 meters in the southern part of the district. Both the deceased are domestic tourists visiting Narayansthan.

According to the District Police Office, Dhulikhel, the body of 12-year-old Saurabh Sapkota of Panauti Municipality-6 was found on Saturday morning. While searching for Sapkota, who has been missing since 3 am on Saturday, the body was found about 100 meters below the hill of Narayansthan, said Hari Khatiwada, Deputy Superintendent of Police. "The incident is being further investigated," he said.

According to relatives, Saurabh slipped in the snow and disappeared. After receiving the news of Sapkota's disappearance, the police and the Mountain Warfare team of the Kalijung Battalion of the Kalijung Battalion at the district headquarters Dhulikhel had been mobilized for the search operation since Saturday morning. The locals also tried hard to find Sapkota. Security personnel has been mobilized as it is very challenging to search on a large hill. "It was very difficult to find the boy who had fallen on the hill. A team of security personnel including the army tied his rope and brought his body," said Khatiwada. According to him, the body of Sapkota, who was found dead during the search, was recovered in the afternoon.

Bethanchowk is the highest point of Narayansthan district. Especially due to snowfall in winter, internal and external tourists come during this period. From here one can see the hilly and mountainous ranges of the Mahabharata and the Terai region and have a good view of the sunrise. As there is a temple of Mahadev here, fairs are also held on special occasions. Since last year, some youths have started living in tents on Narayansthan hill. A youth from Dhulikhel had died after falling from the same hill in Chait last year.

Niroj Rijal, 23, of Dhulikhel Municipality-4, who had gone to Bethanchowk to spend the night with four friends, had died after falling from Narayansthan Danda on March 22, 2008. At that time, the Kali Jung Battalion of the Nepal Army at Dhulikhel had stated that Rijal's body had been exhumed from about a thousand meters below. It was revealed from the investigation that Niroj died in a fight while going to urinate near the tent at night.

It is said that after the death of Rijal in a fight at Bethanchowk Narayansthan area, which is becoming a tourist attraction, the locals have been advised to secure the hill with an iron fence. The village municipality, on the other hand, has been stating that physical infrastructure will be constructed to reach the area easily and tourists will be allowed to enter the Narayansthan area only after compiling the list as there is a possibility of missing tourists due to dense forest.
