The Election Commission has rejected the candidature of State Assembly member constituency no. 4 (2) Candidate Santosh Kumar Mehata's of Democratic Socialist Nepal Party.
According to the Provincial Assembly Member Election Act, Mehata was sentenced to imprisonment for the offense of polygamy and since 3 years have not completed from the date of serving that sentence, his candidature was declared ineligible and rejected.
